Women’s Health Capital Review: September 2026

September’s Women’s Health Capital Review tracks where capital moved across the women’s health investment category in the month, and the regulatory and reimbursement markers around it.

Disclosed venture and growth financing reached about $288M across 18 rounds in September, and three rounds made up 63% of it

Forty verified capital, clinical, regulatory and policy events were tracked in the period. Eighteen were venture and growth rounds in the core women’s health category. Around them sat about $2.0B of philanthropic and multilateral commitments, one acquisition, two financings shown separately because their women’s health link is adjacent or structured as debt, and a run of dated regulatory milestones.

    Key themes from the month

Financing is weighted toward later stages. Circle Pharma ($92.5M Series E), Nua ($50M Series C transaction) and Evvy ($40M Series B) together account for $182.5M of the $288M. Series A and later rounds carry 87% of disclosed dollars. The twelve pre-seed, seed and other early-stage rounds total about $37M, with a median near $1.4M.

Diagnostics were the largest category by number and by dollars. Six diagnostics-led rounds total about $121M, or 42% of the month. Two of them, iPremom (EUR 15M) and Aitiologic (EUR 6.4M), target first-trimester preeclampsia risk prediction, together about $25M. Evvy and Tiny Health, both built on vaginal and gut microbiome testing, raised $73M between them.

Public and grant capital appears in five of twelve early-stage rounds. Sources include Innovate UK, Innovation Fund Denmark, Innovation Victoria with RMIT University, state-affiliated funds in Missouri, and BDC Thrive with an Ontario provincial fund.

Commitments are larger than rounds, in a different form. A $1.1B pledge from Phil and Penny Knight to Providence, UNFPA ($715M+), the Breast Cancer Research Foundation ($100M target), the Walton family ($100M initial) and Estée Lauder ($15M) total about $2.0B. These are pledges and targets over multiple years, not priced equity rounds.

Regulatory and reimbursement dates sit beside the financings. Teal Health raised ahead of a January 2027 coverage mandate. Marani Health received FDA clearance before a 2027 launch. The FDA testosterone docket for menopause closes on 19 October. A new bone mineral density endpoint is cited as reopening osteoporosis interest.

Strategic activity ran through existing portfolios and early-stage sourcing. AbbVie and Organon advanced incremental regulatory steps. EMD Serono acquired preclinical fertility programmes from PostEra. DNB launched a listed women’s health fund, and Flo Health added IPO experience to its leadership.

The geographic spread is wide. Rounds were logged in at least ten countries: the US, India, the UK, Switzerland, Canada, Denmark, Spain, Austria, Norway and Australia.

    Scope and method

The review draws on a compilation from public sources. Clinical, regulatory and policy items run to 24 September. Figures are as reported and, where noted, converted to US dollars at approximate rates. Reviewed and not included: financings where the company materials do not state a women’s health application (SiccaNova’s JPY 1.25bn Series A, Oncoinvent’s NOK 148.5M, Fate Therapeutics’ $15M CIRM grant), rounds with undisclosed amounts (Freyya, ANDPERIOD), and transactions dated outside September. Reported figures are not an exhaustive census of the category so totals should be read as a floor.
